Beauty of the Ninja

I have finally figured out the pen tool! It is such a wonderful thing once you finish creating all the little lines, haha.

Anyways, I thought that it should be good for me to actually post a new image. I just realize that my last image update was over 2 months ago. That's sad, really.

So I was watching Kill Bill on TV the other day, and that's what inspired me to draw this. I loved the color of the final outfit that Uma Thurman wore in the battle between her and Lucy Liu (O-Ren Ishii). I also loved Lucy Liu's kimono (it sucks that it got covered in blood) and sword, so hence the styling.

Overall, I'm really happy with this. I'm trying to improve my shading technique (such as adding different tones of color) and I feel that I'm getting better at it. I only realized after I had finished the picture that the porportions are a bit off. Her arm is too long and her hand is too big. The obi is probably my favorite part, though. I really like the shading on it.

Oh, and this is supposed to be my ninja Tsarra from my story Arasya. I haven't quite figured out how to incorporate her into the story yet. I hope I can because I really like the story line for her, haha.
