005: Seeking Solace

Description

He wrapped his arms around her delicate frame in a tight embrace, pulling her close to him. He rested his head against hers, cooing softly to her. Ares's pounding on his chest subsided, and she gripped Azshiu's shirt tightly in her hands. She buried her face into his shirt, letting the fabric soak up her tears as she sobbed.

All right, I love the girl in Temple Garden, but I think that this maybe one of my favorite deviations. Probably because it's of Azshiu and Ares, but whatever

This picture was inspired by the scene where Ares's father dies (a.k.a the italicized text above). Originally the king's bedroom was supposed to be the backdrop, but it would've been plain..... plus I was too lazy to draw it ^^; So the gray background is simple but effective, I think. And in case you haven't noticed: I'm in love with the half border that I've been doing lately. It just adds a little bit more dimension to the picture.

I luffles how both of the characters came out, despite the flaws in the pic. (Such as the shading on Azshiu's shirt. I regretfully became a little lazy with changing the brush sizes D:)I'm even more in love with the shading on the skin! It's so much better than usual! :faint:

The flavor text is what really does it for me. The picture mixed with the scene creates a truly rich experience for the person viewing.

Even if they had no idea what the scenario was in the first place. Just those few sentences makes the viewer really sympathize with her. Cause we all have had a moment where we just want someone to cling to in our moment of grief.

Well done with the shading too. Keep up the great work.
