The spectacular palace overlooked the major city in the Central Kingdom of Arasya. Protected by a massive stone wall, the palace easily rose above the city and inspired a sense of awe with its sheer beauty and size. It was the Summer Solstice, the last traces of the cool spring air dancing and mixing with the warmer air of summer. School was out, and kids were walking along the streets, excited that their three-month break from school had finally arrived. In the small, local park, one girl sat on a bench beneath the shade of a tree. Dressed in a loose shirt and pants with sneakers, she sat cross-legged on the wooden boards of the bench and looked out across the area with sapphire eyes. She tousled her short brown hair, grateful for the simple relief that it gave her from the heat.             &
